The Assistant Manager – Electrical Engineer is responsible for the technical content associated with new unit proposals & projects including Balance of Plant scope definition, costing evaluations, customer specification, technical risk assessment evaluation, and review of codes and standards (including grid code review). This role spans across ITO and OTR (ITR) and will finalize equipment specifications and drawings, work with Sourcing on Vendor selection, provide field l&C support, and complete appropriate task to out the project. During bid support and requisition engineering activities ITR electrical engineer will work closely with Sales, Engineering. EPCs, Supply Chain, and Customers. This role will report to the Plant Head.



Key Tasks
1. Solid background and deep knowledge in Balance of Plant Electrical systems/equipment and interfaces such as: Control house/PCM, LV & MV Switchgears & MCCs, Power Transformers, HV Switchyard, Black start diesel generator & control, Synch panel, Protection relaying, Battery systems and UPSs.

2. Hands on experience and knowledge of Industry recognized electrical codes & Standards as well as working knowledge of Electrical installation practices.

3. Deep domain expertise on Plant level protection scheme design, setting calculation and relay coordination studies.

4. Ability to develop plant level electrical design documentation such as high level and detail plant HV, MV single lines & three-line w/protection, instrumentation & metering details, interlocking scheme as well as LV & DC distribution system for a complete power plant and HV substation.

5. Review and interpret customer inquiries, project requirements and specifications to establish scope of supply limits, develop details comments & clarifications, evaluate & define non-standard product request.

6. Provide technical leadership & training on overall electrical system sizing, selection, and design practices, as well as power systems studies and analysis to team members.

7. Design interconnect cabling and layout cable trays including BOM development.

8. Design plant lighting, grounding, and lightning protection.

9. Hands on experience with analysing and solving complex generator stability cases during grid connected operations & excitation/AVR.

10. Work with vendors to obtain project-specific information and quotations, Review supplier’s drawings and deliverables against customer requirements, local codes & standards.

11. Work, and lead when appropriate, multi-functional engineering teams to develop conceptual solutions, technical work scope, and specifications for project applications.

12. Prepare and present technical data to internal and external customers.

13. Define, review, and manage technical proposal development and execution activities that include but not limited to product electrical system, plant electrical system, plant integration scheme to grid network, High Voltage substation design and development, protection system and industry standard AGC application, plant modelling to ensure grid code compliance.

14. Work directly with Customer, Sales, Commercial operations in negotiating technical and project scope definition, Proposal preparation & contract negotiation.

15. Perform Plant Design Reviews of EPC developed technical engineering documentation and provide guidance and innovative solutions to optimize the overall plant design with target to improve reliability, safety and reduce cost and cycle time.

16. Support Sourcing during Vendor evaluation and selection as part of the project execution process.

17. Provide technical support during Installation, Commissioning, and start-up / testing activities.

18. Collate and close out all appropriate engineering activities including As Built and lessons learned with project team.

December 18, 2023

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

8-12 years of experience in electrical engineering. Processing Plant, Power Plant, Cement Plant experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Able to work with different levels of management, vendors, customers, and cultures.
Ability to prioritize and multitask.
Outstanding written and verbal English communication skills (oral and written).
Must be wiling to work independently and be a self-starter.
Must be able/willing to travel, both domestically and internationally.
Ability to understand complex grid connection schemes and impact on the Processing plant during operation.
Experience with AutoCAD and power simulation tools will be an additional edge.

Strong commands of English, both writing and speaking.
